This small, leafy lichen can be identified throughout the year though expert confirmation of the identity of suspected new populations may be required.
The distribution of this species in Tasmania is restricted to one locality, a mature Nothofagus cunninghamii tree in well-formed callidendrous rainforest along the Western Explorer Road, south of the Pieman River.
