This small, much branched shrub is believed to be extinct in Tasmania. Flowers are required to identify and aid detection of this species. Most herbarium specimens from Victoria have been collected from October to December.
In Tasmania, the species has only been recorded once, on Clarke Island in eastern Bass Strait in 1892. Habitat in Victoria has been described as gravelly soils in drier, often elevated forest and woodland.

Additional permits may also be required under other Acts or regulations to take, disturb or interfere with any form of wildlife or its products, (e.g. dens, nests, bones). This may also depend on the tenure of the land and other agreements relating to its management.
