lichen

This decumbent, bushy or shrublike, woolly lichen can be identified at any time of the year although expert confirmation of the identity of suspected new populations may be required.
Within Australia, this species is known only from the cool temperate rainforests of the Savage River Pipeline Road in the north west of Tasmania where it occurs on smooth-barked, shaded tree trunks.
